Meet Ken

Ken Lawson is currently the head of the Kenneth E. Lawson Group, LLC, a consultancy which focuses upon leadership development, money transmitter licensing compliance, and economic development.

Previously, Ken served in the United States Marines as a Judge Advocate and later as an Assistant United States Attorney. He was appointed by then President George W. Bush and confirmed by the United States Senate as the Assistant Secretary of Enforcement at the U.S. Treasury Department. He also served at the Transportation Security Administration.

Further, based in Jakarta, Indonesia, he worked on a USAID funded Anti-Money Laundering/Counter-Terrorist Financing project and then served as a Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering compliance executive for a Florida based Fintech startup.

He later led each of Florida’s three statewide economic development agencies for nearly a decade: Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation, Visit Florida, and Florida Department of Economic Development. He also served as the Interim Executive Director of the North Carolina Outward Bound School, a leadership development wilderness program.
