What did you do before joining McChrystal Group?
Before joining McChrystal Group I developed a consultancy business delivering advisory, business development, and growth strategy services to multiple small and medium-sized enterprises and industry associations.
I am a former civil servant and joined federal services in 2007 as a Presidential Management Fellow with the U.S. Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration (ITA). During my tenure at ITA, I served the Deputy Under Secretary for International Trade and the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Services Industries before joining the U.S. Commercial Section of the U.S. Embassy in Kabul. In Afghanistan, I dedicated my efforts to creating a business enabling environment through trade and commercial policy reform, trade promotion, and private sector development.
In 2013, I joined the Department of Defense Task Force for Business and Stability Operations (TFBSO), where I continued my work in Afghanistan leading the Strategic Investment Team, which focused on cultivating viable investment opportunities across Afghanistan and attracting international private sector investors.
With the wind-down of TBFSO, I shifted to the commercial sector of contingency operations as Director of Foreign Military Sales and Defense with Aegis Defense Services, Ltd, a leading security and risk management company. I worked with Aegis’s commercial defense clients to achieve mission success in complex markets by leveraging a suite of integrated security solutions that are designed specifically for the client, activity, and environment.
