Rich Daum is a Senior Principal and leads client engagements in the industrial and manufacturing, aerospace, and financial services sectors. He is an expert in strategy formation and translating strategy to action to realize corporate objectives.
What did you do before joining McChrystal Group?
Prior to joining McChrystal Group, I served in the U.S. Army for 29 years and retired at the rank of Colonel. As a combat veteran, I commanded Army Aviation task forces in multiple operations in Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Afghanistan. Additionally, as a strategic planner, I have extensive experience developing operational and strategic plans at the national and international levels including at The Joint Staff, U.S. Pacific Command, U.S. Central Command, and Multi-National Corps Iraq.
Why did you join McChrystal Group?
I joined McChrystal Group to help organizations improve their performance through the lessons I learned during his military service, including principles from the Team of Teams approach.
What has been your proudest moment at McChrystal Group?
I am absolutely thrilled when McChrystal Group is able to constructively help our partners achieve a hard-fought “win” that had previously been only a fleeting objective.
What sport or hobby do you have outside of work?
In my spare time, I enjoy keeping a pristine lawn along with the other myriad tasks to maintain a well-landscaped yard.
