Kathleen Hatfield is a Partner and the Chief Marketing Officer of McChrystal Group. In her role, Kathleen positions the firm’s executives as thought leaders and industry experts through media relations, bylined article development and placement, marketing, social media, speaking engagements, and publicity.
A communications strategist with nearly two decades of experience promoting and positioning professional services brands, Kathleen led US public relations efforts for marketing consultancy Prophet from 2012-2015. There, she represented some of the most creative problem-solvers in brand strategy, digital transformation, marketing, and innovation.
Previously, Kathleen worked at global brand strategy and design consultancy Lippincott in New York, where she was a director from 2001-2004 and a partner from 2004-2012. Lippincott is part of Oliver Wyman, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Marsh & McLennan Companies.
At Lippincott, she directed corporate and marketing communications, promoting the firm’s capabilities to prospective clients, partners, and influencers through traditional and social media. She also led brand launch PR campaigns for clients including Citizens Bank, Delta Air Lines, Hyatt, Infiniti, McDonald’s, Nissan, Samsung, Sprint, Starbucks, and Walmart.
Earlier, Kathleen was a director in the corporate and financial practice at Burson-Marsteller in New York. Burson-Marsteller is a part of Young & Rubicam Group, a subsidiary of WPP, the world’s leader in communications services.
At Burson, she managed a team that performed public relations and professional services reputation management for Accenture’s retail, consumer goods, and chemicals operating units. She also ran the financial media relations program for Coach, Inc., partnering with the investor relations team to produce quarterly earnings announcements, CEO media relations, and roadshows.
A native New Yorker, Kathleen received a Bachelor of Arts in English from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA.
