Rachael Lammers

Senior Principal

Rachael Lammers is a Senior Principal and the Chief of Staff for McChrystal Group. She is responsible for executing strategy with a focus on driving effective processes and talent management driving growth while maintaining McChrystal Group’s robust culture.

Rachael is a former civil servant who joined federal service in 2007 as a Presidential Management Fellow with the U.S. Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration (ITA). During her tenure at ITA, she served the Deputy Under Secretary for International Trade and the the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Services Industries before joining the U.S. Commercial Section of the U.S. Embassy in Kabul. In Afghanistan, she dedicated her efforts to creating a business enabling environment through trade and commercial policy reform, trade promotion, and private sector development.

In 2013, Rachel joined the Department of Defense Task Force for Business and Stability Operations (TFBSO), where she continued her work in Afghanistan leading the Strategic Investment Team, which focused on cultivating viable investment opportunities across Afghanistan and attracting international private sector investors.

With the wind down of TBFSO, Rachael shifted to the commercial sector of contingency operations as Director of Foreign Military Sales and Defense with Aegis Defense Services, Ltd, a leading security and risk management company. Rachel worked with Aegis’ commercial defense clients to achieve mission success in complex markets by leveraging a suite of integrated security solutions that are designed specific to the client, activity and environment.

Before joining McChrystal Group, Rachel developed a consultancy business delivering advisory, business development and growth strategy services to multiple small and medium sized enterprises and industry associations.

Rachael received her Master of Science degree from the Sam Nunn School of International Affairs at the Georgia Institute of Technology and her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Georgia State University.
