Zainab Ahmed Schwartz is the Head of Finance at McChrystal Group, leading finance and accounting functions, overseeing financial reporting, planning, treasury, compliance, and strategic decision support. Zainab also partners with executive leadership to strengthen financial performance, improve operational efficiency, manage risk, and enable sustainable growth across the business.

WHAT DID YOU DO BEFORE JOINING MCCHRYSTAL GROUP?

As an entrepreneurial, builder finance executive, I spent two decades in finance, strategy, and operations roles, including CFO leadership for high-growth health and technology companies. I built and transformed finance teams, supported M&A and fundraising, and worked across data tech, fintech, govtech, e-commerce, and professional services, beginning my career at Deloitte. 

WHY DID YOU JOIN MCCHRYSTAL GROUP?

I joined McChrystal Group because I was drawn to its mission, values, and reputation for leadership. It offered the opportunity to build a high-performing finance function, partner with exceptional people, and help scale the business by providing the financial discipline and insights needed to support long-term growth.

WHAT SPORT OR HOBBY DO YOU HAVE OUTSIDE OF WORK?

I enjoy staying active through running, tennis, and hot yoga. I also love traveling—especially exploring destinations off the beaten path, where I can plunge into different cultures, connect with local communities, and create unique adventures.

Just like Winston Churchill - I love painting!
