Meet Sophia

Sophia Santoyo is a Communications & Marketing Strategist on McChrystal Group’s Marketing Team, where she shapes how the firm’s ideas, people, and passion show up in the market. She develops content and campaigns that translate complex concepts into clear, engaging narratives, helping amplify MG's voice across multimedia channels. Her work focuses on connecting strategy to storytelling and ensuring what the firm says is as impactful as the work it delivers.

What did you do before joining McChrystal Group?

Before joining McChrystal Group, I worked in higher education as a Content Creator at High Point University, where I developed multimedia content, directed photo and video shoots, and crafted written work to support the university’s brand and storytelling efforts. Prior to that, I held leadership roles within the university’s student-run advertising agency, leading integrated marketing campaigns and managing client relationships across a range of platforms. While earning my Master’s in Communication and Business Leadership, I also gained experience across advertising and the nonprofit sector, working in a variety of roles that strengthened my strategic and creative skillset.

Why did you join McChrystal Group?

I joined McChrystal Group for its people, purpose, and passion. I was inspired by the opportunity to work alongside a team that is deeply committed to meaningful impact, both for clients and within its own culture. Inspired by the firm’s commitment to helping organizations become more adaptive and aligned, I was particularly motivated by this environment that actively practices the principles it teaches, where collaboration, transparency, and continuous learning are part of the day-to-day, making McChrystal Group a place where I knew I could grow while contributing to something larger than myself. 

What sport or hobby do you have outside of work?

Outside of work, I enjoy creative pursuits, including artistic projects, creative writing, spending time with family and animals, staying active through workouts, and listening to music.
