Meet Chad

Chad Wallace is a Senior Associate at McChrystal Group, serving as the firm’s AI Architect. He helps identify where artificial intelligence can strengthen how the organization operates, then designs and builds practical solutions to make those improvements real. His work spans business development, client delivery, and knowledge management, with a focus on turning emerging technology into tools teams can use immediately. He is driven by a simple goal: helping colleagues feel confident with AI and empowered to apply it in their day‑to‑day work.

What did you do before joining McChrystal Group?

Before McChrystal Group, I spent nearly a decade in the U.S. Army — first as an enlisted soldier and later as an Infantry Officer — leading teams across Afghanistan, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia through combat deployments and large-scale operations. After the military, I earned my MBA from Georgetown University and joined a small middle-market private equity firm, where I combined traditional due diligence and financial modeling with AI and data-driven sourcing tools to identify and analyze acquisition opportunities.

Why did you join McChrystal Group?

Complexity isn't slowing down. The organizations that figure out how to move fast, decide well, and keep teams aligned under pressure will win — the rest won't. McChrystal Group exists to solve that. I couldn't think of a better place to do work that's going to matter more every year.

What has been your proudest moment at McChrystal Group?

I've built things here where you can see the friction disappear in real time — a partner walks in prepared because the research was already done, a new hire gets up to speed in days instead of weeks. Watching technology actually deliver on its promise, right in front of you, in real workflows — that's what I'm most proud of.

What are your favorite books (besides Team of Teams!)?
  • The Denial of Death by Ernest Becker
  • The Brothers Karamazov by Fyodor Dostoevsky
  • The Stranger by Albert Camus
  • Gates of Fire by Steven Pressfield
  • Lonesome Dove by Larry McMurtry
