Ryan Flynn

Ryan Flynn is a Partner at McChrystal Group who advises senior executives navigating growth, complexity, and change. He specializes in helping leadership teams translate strategy into coordinated execution - aligning around priorities, improving information flow, and accelerating decision-making so organizations can adapt quickly, move with speed, and deliver results at scale.

Since joining McChrystal Group in 2014, Ryan has guided leaders through transformation. Applying the Team of Teams model - a leadership system built to break down silos, build trust, and enable faster, more integrated execution - he and his teams help organizations coordinate across business lines and deliver the level of performance stakeholders expect in increasingly complex environments. He has applied this approach across a variety of settings, including Global 500 companies, smaller entrepreneurial firms, and the COVID-19 crisis, when he supported a national network of state and federal leaders through routine collaboration with the White House on time-sensitive decisions. 

Ryan has in-depth experience with complex, global matrixed organizations, where performance depends on improving information flow and accelerating decision-making across geographies and business lines, and with high-growth, investor-backed companies, where value creation relies on scaling rapidly while maintaining entrepreneurial agility. His industry work spans technology, professional services, and luxury retail, along with multiple large-scale engagements in financial services, where he has helped firms drive growth through more integrated client delivery, and in pharma/biotech, where he has helped leaders achieve greater speed and adaptability to accelerate innovation and respond to shifting market demands. In these environments, Ryan applies a proven leadership system to help leaders translate strategy into coordinated delivery that produces measurable outcomes. 

Earlier in his career, Ryan worked at Alvarez & Marsal advising state and local governments on financial and operational challenges. He holds an MBA from the Yale School of Management and a BA from Trinity College, CT. He has lived and worked in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, and currently resides in Philadelphia, PA.
