Meet Ryan
Ryan Aminzadeh is a Partner and the Chief Data & Analytics Officer at McChrystal Group. In this role, Ryan is responsible for researching, developing, and deploying McChrystal Group’s broad portfolio of analytic and diagnostic capabilities. These include diagnostic surveys, network analysis, and AI and NLP-based analytics technologies oriented around people, teams, and organizations. Ryan is also responsible for technical operations, including data engineering, data model development & maintenance, and other bespoke data scraping, synthesis, storage, processing, and visualization applications.
Before joining McChrystal Group, Ryan co-founded and served as CTO of HelioScout, developing recruiting & talent analytics and insights software. This included bespoke data acquisition, augmentation, and search & retrieval software, customized NLP algorithms, predictive statistical modeling software, UI design/development, and IT infrastructure/architecture.
Prior to founding HelioScout, Ryan co-founded and served as CTO of Sunstone Analytics, developing predictive algorithms for talent assessment by applying proprietary machine learning and NLP techniques to leverage structured and unstructured data about applicants and employees. Ryan joined CEB/SHL in June 2015 as part of its acquisition of Sunstone Analytics, where he worked as a product head to integrate and further develop the data-driven machine learning-based talent management solutions he created at Sunstone.
Ryan’s expertise in machine learning, statistical modeling, and natural language processing was developed through work in the field of human language technology early in his career. At MIT's Lincoln Laboratory, his research and development of speech and voice recognition algorithms, as well as statistical machine language translation applications, honed his skills in pattern recognition and modeling. As a Senior Engineering Researcher at the U.S. Department of Defense, he led research, development, and deployment of large-scale cross-lingual document search and analytics systems, building a strong understanding of how to ensure the utility and usability of data and analytics for the end-user.
Ryan has both a Master's and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania. Additionally, Ryan holds a patent in the field of machine learning and has numerous peer-reviewed publications in international conference proceedings and industry journals for machine learning and applied statistics.
