What did you do before joining McChrystal Group?
Prior to joining McChrystal Group, I worked at the Corporate Executive Board as a Senior Learning Designer, responsible for developing classroom and e-learning programs on best practices of leadership. I also held positions as a Learning and Organizational Development Consultant and a Project Manager at a global engineering firm, charged with leading an accelerated development program targeting high-potential leaders.
Why did you join McChrystal Group?
At McChrystal Group I am surrounded by decorated military officers, seasoned business leaders, motivated analysts and Ph.D. scholars who are driven by a common purpose and genuinely excited to tackle difficult challenges together. We care for each other and encourage each other to grow and be better because the work we are doing truly matters.
What has been your proudest moment at McChrystal Group?
My proudest moment took place after the first workshop I delivered to a group of senior leaders from a global hedge fund. By the end of the session, they had formed authentic connections with each other and were genuinely excited to return to work to put their new skills and knowledge into action. It was a clear indicator that our offerings truly make a difference in people’s lives.
Why are you passionate about leaders & teams?
Teams are the answer to our world’s most dynamic, complex problem. We win when we harness the power of the group!

The closure of GE's Crotonville serves as a wake-up call, and with companies such as 3M and Boeing also in the midst of selling leadership campuses, it further highlights the inadequacies of 20th-century conventional leadership development methods. The trend underscores the pressing need for a shift in approach to leader development. We posit that the answer lies in embracing a digitally enabled and highly targeted approach to leader development. This approach leverages technology to deliver personalized learning experiences tailored to individual needs and specific business objectives.
Tolerance of Tension
Organizational success in complex environments hinges upon the willingness and ability of mid-level managers to tolerate, even embrace, the tension that is woven into the very fabric of social systems.
